Whitewater Township selected MSA to design a building to replace their existing 60 year old station located in Hooven, Ohio. The new facility is to be located on Kilby Road at the 275 interchange. The 16,000 sf design includes four Apparatus Bays, Sleeping/Living area for up to 8 full-time fire fighters, administration offices and a training room. The building was designed to blend with its rural surroundings in its aesthetic and scale. Features such as dormers on the apparatus bay, peaked roofs, and a wrap around porch were utilized to reflect residential features and to minimize the scale of the building. In addition to the planning and design, MSA also provided Response Time Maps/Diagrams to help demonstrate how relocating the station to this more centralized site would greatly improve response times for the entire Township boundary. Construction for this project is scheduled to begin January 2011.
