The Village of Indian Hill retained MSA Architects to develop a variety of site concepts and prepare documents necessary to construct a new public works facility. The existing public works campus consisted of the Village’s Utility department, water department and public works department. Through the planning process, the village elected to complete the project in two consecutive phases.
Phase I – Consisted of the design and construction of a new 18,000 sf administration and vehicle maintenance facility. This was located adjacent to the existing water works facility and provided shared facility between the water works department, utility department and public works department. This phase included new administration offices, training rooms, locker and shower facilities and support spaces.
Phase II – Consisted of the design and construction of 22,000 sf vehicle garage facility. This new facility was designed to accommodate the needs of the village’s vehicles. A linear facility was designed to allow snow plow and additional heavy equipment to be loaded and unloaded prior to use. Careful consideration was given to the vehicles length, and width and overall service ability.
