With the launch of the Metro Plus, pre-BRT service, Metro asked MSA Architects to provide design services for the new route. A kit-of-parts was designed for a standard Metro Plus bus stop, including a typical site-plan, customized shelter graphics, route map and stop marker. Using the existing Metro Plus bus graphics as a starting point, MSA developed shelter graphics to reflect several key goals: hierarchy of information, sightline considerations, and brand identity. In addition, the tall linear stop marker showcases the simplistic transit-style route map and acts as a beacon for the Metro Plus route. The system’s simple and bold graphics successfully allows for quick identification and recognition of the new route service.
