The City of Dublin asked MSA Architects to develop a sign system and graphics master plan for the Dublin Recreation Center. The graphics package, developed in conjunction with the architectural and interior renovation design by MSA, uses inspiration from existing metal artwork and the warm, rustic finishes specified in the renovation package. The master plan included directories, identifiers, informational signs, large-scale graphics and magnetic graphic boards. With goals of incorporating a clean design and streamlining posted information, the master plan allows for flexibility and future growth. Activity-specific, magnetic graphic boards line the length of the hallway towards the membership check-in desk. In addition to an overall facility directory, smaller directories are incorporated into the rear structures of the new membership desks. These flexible directories utilize a magnetic substrate allowing changeability in a clean and sophisticated design. A large-scale curved overhead sign over the main desk acts as an identifier for the facility while also providing wayfinding cues for members and guests.
